The 2nd National Consultation Meeting, which aims to contribute to the development of a culture of cooperation and joint work between civil society organizations, public institutions and other related stakeholders, was in Ankara Hotel on November 25, 2021.
190 representatives from; civil society organizations which received grants within the scope of the “Civil Society Dialogue Programme Between Turkey and the European Union” and “Civil Society Support Programme”, relevant public institutions, local governments and development agencies, other stakeholders operating in the civil society sector, international organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs and the national press attended to the event.
Meeting started with the opening speech of Bülent Özcan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Directorate for EU Affairs, Director-General for Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation on “Turkey Civil Society Sub Sector: 10 Years of Experience”.
EU Affairs Expert Bilge Özer from Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs, gave information on “Civil Society Sub-Sector Achievements and Opportunities”
Meeting continued with the “Civil Society Experience Sharing, Impacts and Capabilities” Panel moderated by Duygu Yardımcı, EU Affairs Expert at Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs, with the participation of representatives from CSOs and related institutions.
In the meeting, the participants gathered under their own thematic areas and carried out workshops which was organized with the aim of creating an environment for coordination, consultation and exchange of ideas for the realization of projects carried out in 5 thematic areas (“Sensitive Groups”, “Business World, Sectoral Cooperation and Social Entrepreneurship”, “Environment, Climate, Food and Energy”, “Culture, Art”, “Education and Youth”), especially among the stakeholders of the civil sector, and to create more effective and sustainable projects in the future by taking into account the needs in these thematic areas. At the end of the workshops, concrete outputs were obtained and presented by the participants in the 3 main areas specified in order to increase the impact and sustainability of the projects in the determined thematic areas.
Hakan Atik, Head of Department of Project Implementation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs, delivered the closing speech. We would like to thank all our CSO representatives and stakeholder institutions who attended the event.
